Leviticus 22:1-23:44

"I am the Lord who makes ________ holy," seems to be the repeated refrain here. I feel more comforted by this, God's proclamation, than by the particulars of the required and prohibited behaviors listed.

I am disregarding many of those required and prohibited behaviors, as do many Christian communities. I suppose God  intended them for the Israelis of long ago.

God, if You intend for me to follow all of the scriptures' required and prohibited behaviors today, then show me. I want to yield to Your desires.

I am relying on Jesus' words: "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40)

I want to BE so in love with You, God, that I cannot help but DO as You desire.
