Accounting! How many men, how many women, how many children--No! How many battle-ready men of age 20 or older are counted. After the census they are commanded to camp in a certain location relative to the Tent of Meeting, which is at the center of the camp. Only the priestly families are not counted. They are to serve the Lord in the Tent of Meeting.
Am I battle-ready? Am I tending the place to which God assigns me? How am I serving the God who promises to be at my center and with me always--to the end of the cosmos?
